A Story of Passion, Growth, & Cows (but no magic beans!)

Kiwi Productions began in 2000, not in a boardroom, but on a small farm in Alberta. Our founder, Bryce Lambert, was just 16 when his love for music and theatre sparked a dream. Realizing he needed some startup capital, he took a page out of Jack’s book and sold his prized cow – not for some magic beans, but to buy a DJ setup. This laid the foundation for what would become Kiwi Productions as we know it today.

As Bryce’s skills grew, so did his ambitions. He realized his hometown couldn’t provide the opportunities he craved. So he set his sights on the bright lights of Edmonton, determined to make his mark on the industry. Here, he saw firsthand how many AV companies settled for mediocrity. He saw a gap in the market that Kiwi Productions could fill – a need for a company that prioritized innovation, creativity, and exceptional service.

That’s when the real journey of Kiwi Productions began. Bryce invested heavily in top-of-the-line equipment, constantly pushing boundaries and exceeding client expectations. His dedication to excellence didn’t go unnoticed. From working with CTV to capturing breathtaking footage for National Geographic documentaries, Kiwi Productions quickly earned a reputation for delivering award-winning results.

As Kiwi grew, so did its team. Today, we’re a family of passionate professionals, each with a unique skill set that contributes to our success.   Kiwi Productions exceeded all expectations when it came to audio and visual support for Edmonton Startup Week, hosted annually by Edmonton Unlimited, including Launch Party, our flagship event. The expertise and flexibility of Bryce and his team was evident by the the setup in our space that allowed us to host over 30 events back-to-back throughout the week, the production for Launch Party at the Edmonton Convention Centre, and the content series featuring our Launch Party companies on the Alberta Impact podcast. We leaned on them heavily for audio support in our space for different events, plus the ability to record most of the sessions. The production value that included  large screens that displayed content, slide decks, and camera angles, along with audio options, lights, and stage accessories made the experience for everyone involved both on and off the stage seamless and memorable. For a smaller team, they are mighty and their passion for producing a well-polished product and experience resonated with us the most. It was more than just a job to them; it was like they were part of the team. Recommending Kiwi Productions is a no brainer for us, because when it comes to dealing with an A/V vendor, they make the process simple.   When you host a 3 day conference with over 1000 attendees, including 650 students, 225 volunteers, 150 people from partnering organizations, and executives from multi-billion $ companies, you need an AV provider that is professional, adaptable, and organized. We required entertainment for 2 major events with 700+ attendees: an opening ceremony and a formal gala for Canada's largest Undergraduate business case competition and conference. Bryce and his team provided our projectors, screens, camera work, live streaming capabilities, switching, and essentially ran our show on the technical side.

JDC West is a complex weekend: it involves 7 events, each with over 700 people with extremely tight turnarounds to move attendees from one event to another. This makes planning, setup, and organization prior to the event critical to success, and Bryce's decades of experience in the events space provided value immediately by knowing which camera angles to use in the room and how to reposition our extremely tight ballroom to provide adequate space for equipment. We had initially planned to use a more inexpensive option for our projectors and stream switching, but it became evident we needed help, and Bryce's team were a joy to work with for our planning committee, our event staff, management at The Westin, and our audio provider, Market Sound. From the first meeting with Kiwi Productions, it became clear that Bryce would go above and beyond to make our event work. Our whole team felt like Kiwi was a true partner, not just a vendor.

  Kiwi Productions has been a stand up company to deal with. We (track and field team) only have good things to say about them. They are prompt, organized and really detailed in all their work. We have been using them for ~8 years. They have provided great solutions on the video/web stream front and interface with our timers and technical crew really well to bring results and video into one place. The end product is really professional and has allowed us to do unique and different things in our sport. They have been able to educate us on better and efficient ways to host events and have brought solutions we wouldn't have thought of on our own. The audio value they have brought has been amazing.   Best ever production/AV company we have ever used. We’ve been using Encore for over a decade and I’m SO glad we took a leap of faith and tried out Bryce for our event. His team is so knowledgeable and friendly, they came up with so many ideas for us. Their prices were so competitive, I would say good luck finding someone that will give you this level of care and production for anything near what you’ll get elsewhere.
