Event Overview

The Dream Summit is one of the largest summits hosted by WFG agents Melissa and Steve Holbrook in Western Canada. It gathers over 700 attendees at the Edmonton Convention Centre, to celebrate the milestones and to provide updates in the investment world. Our team has had the privilege of growing this event within a short period of time through our expertise, creative process and continuous upgrade of audio visual technology for event production.

2023: Following the experience and cost of production from in-house AV companies in the past, the client came to us with a theme, budget and request for transparency.

FULL SERVICE EVENT DESIGN, PRODUCTION AND CONTENT CO-MANAGEMENT

Projection Screen and Content Blending:

Massive Projection Screen: We rigged and flew an impressive 17ft tall x 100ft wide projection screen, creating a grand visual centrepiece for the event. This expansive screen served as a dynamic canvas for displaying rich content including sponsor logos and captivating visuals.

Advanced Projection Technology: To ensure seamless content blending and optimal brightness, we utilized Barco S3-4K switcher to blend four 20,000-lumen Epson laser projectors. This high-lumen projection technology delivered clear, vibrant images across the entire screen, enhancing the visual impact of the event.

LED Video Wall:

Stage Video Wall: To further elevate the production, we installed a large 2.5mm Absen LED video wall around the 32ft main stage. This video wall provided high-resolution visuals and dynamic content, significantly enhancing the overall visual experience and adding a modern, cutting-edge element to the event.

Superior Sound Distribution:

JBL Line Array Audio System: A large JBL line array audio system was flown to ensure crystal clear sound distribution throughout the room. This setup provided powerful, evenly distributed audio, allowing all attendees to experience the event’s soundscapes with perfect clarity.

Backdrop and Lighting:

Backdrop Drapes: To enhance the visual appeal of the projection screen, we installed 120ft wide x 30ft long grey drapes as a backdrop. This backdrop created a sleek, neutral background that complemented the vibrant visuals on the screen.

LED Up-Lights: 21 units of LED Par multi-colour up-lights were strategically placed to add dynamic lighting effects and set the mood. These lights provided customizable color options to match the event’s theme and enhance the overall ambiance.

LED Moving Lighting Rig: A large LED moving lighting rig was deployed to distribute lighting evenly across the main hall. This setup added ambiance and vibrancy, creating an engaging and lively atmosphere.

Stage Lights: Our Leko stage wash and spotlights were carefully positioned to ensure optimal illumination of the stage. These lights highlighted presenters and performers, ensuring they were clearly visible and enhancing the quality of the on-screen images.

Live Switching and capture

Audio and Video Control:Our expert audio visual technicians used state-of-the-art audio console, video switchers, and lighting console to ensure flawless execution of the event. This technology enabled seamless transitions and precise control over the event’s audio-visual elements.

HD Multi-Camera Setup: Two high definition cameras were deployed to capture live footage of the presenters. This footage was then switched live onto the projection screens, providing an engaging and real-time viewing experience for the audience.

Truss and Cable Management:

Clean and Professional Setup: We rigged 120ft of truss with flown cable runs, maintaining a clean and organized appearance. This meticulous cable management prevented visual clutter, ensuring a professional and polished look for the event space.

  Kiwi Productions exceeded all expectations when it came to audio and visual support for Edmonton Startup Week, hosted annually by Edmonton Unlimited, including Launch Party, our flagship event. The expertise and flexibility of Bryce and his team was evident by the the setup in our space that allowed us to host over 30 events back-to-back throughout the week, the production for Launch Party at the Edmonton Convention Centre, and the content series featuring our Launch Party companies on the Alberta Impact podcast. We leaned on them heavily for audio support in our space for different events, plus the ability to record most of the sessions. The production value that included  large screens that displayed content, slide decks, and camera angles, along with audio options, lights, and stage accessories made the experience for everyone involved both on and off the stage seamless and memorable.   When you host a 3 day conference with over 1000 attendees, including 650 students, 225 volunteers, 150 people from partnering organizations, and executives from multi-billion $ companies, you need an AV provider that is professional, adaptable, and organized. We required entertainment for 2 major events with 700+ attendees: an opening ceremony and a formal gala for Canada's largest Undergraduate business case competition and conference. Bryce and his team provided our projectors, screens, camera work, live streaming capabilities, switching, and essentially ran our show on the technical side.

JDC West is a complex weekend: it involves 7 events, each with over 700 people with extremely tight turnarounds to move attendees from one event to another. This makes planning, setup, and organization prior to the event critical to success, and Bryce's decades of experience in the events space provided value immediately by knowing which camera angles to use in the room and how to reposition our extremely tight ballroom to provide adequate space for equipment. We had initially planned to use a more inexpensive option for our projectors and stream switching, but it became evident we needed help, and Bryce's team were a joy to work with for our planning committee, our event staff, management at The Westin, and our audio provider, Market Sound. From the first meeting with Kiwi Productions, it became clear that Bryce would go above and beyond to make our event work. Our whole team felt like Kiwi was a true partner, not just a vendor.

  Kiwi Productions has been a stand up company to deal with. We (track and field team) only have good things to say about them. They are prompt, organized and really detailed in all their work. We have been using them for ~8 years. They have provided great solutions on the video/web stream front and interface with our timers and technical crew really well to bring results and video into one place. The end product is really professional and has allowed us to do unique and different things in our sport.   Best ever production/AV company we have ever used. We’ve been using Encore for over a decade and I’m SO glad we took a leap of faith and tried out Bryce for our event. His team is so knowledgeable and friendly, they came up with so many ideas for us.
